Accountant/Bookkeeper

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Heritage Engineering HoldCo is a growing platform in the engineering services industry, spanning civil, structural, MEP, and surveying and inspection work across the country. We partner with excellent, founder-led engineering firms, helping them build stronger operations, deeper leadership benches, and growth, while preserving their local expertise, client relationships, and reputations. We are actively growing the platform, and building the people and systems to support that growth is a core part of our strategy.

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to work within one of our operating companies to own bookkeeping and financial processes. This is a hands-on, high-trust role where you’ll work closely with leadership to manage invoicing, payroll, and reporting while keeping the business organized and running efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, small business environment.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll, including employee pay, payroll taxes, reimbursements, and retirement contributions

• Strong focus on accounts receivable, bank and cash receipt reconciliations.

• Pay and track company bills

• Make electronic deposits and record incoming funds

• Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks

• Perform general accounting and bookkeeping duties

• Assist with routine financial and administrative reporting

Qualifications

• Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is Required.

• Strong QuickBooks experience

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
